| GATHERING We gather on Sunday nights at 5:00pm as a community to worship the living God. We desire to allow individual expression and to create a space where distractions and facades may be removed and the community may discover and experience God's presence in worship. This may occur in any of a variety of expressions, such as in song, painting, writing, prayer, dancing, or wherever the Spirit leads. If you have children, be sure to read the "Children" link above. Our Sunday meetings are held at the Union Project on the corner of Stanton and Negley. As the coffee shop is closed, please enter Sunday gatherings through the Stanton Ave doors. Sharing Life with Others This summer in worship we will explore some communal practices that help us live into our new family in Christ. It has been suggested that spiritual formation is about being transformed into the image of Christ "for the sake of others." Spiritual rhythms and practices never simply serve personal development. We like the Trinitarian God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) are created to be in community with one another. Moreover, like our relationship with God our relationship with others cannot happen without intentionally and purposefully creating space for God to build the community he created. Sharing life together is always a risk. It involves intimacy, vulnerability, interdependence and honesty. Yet, the practices of sharing life together will help shape us as individuals and as a community that can genuinely love like Jesus and "lay down our lives for our friends." |
